2025 ABVTA Annual Report
2025 marked a pivotal year for the Alberta Veterinary Technologist Association as we entered a new chapter guided by our Strategic Plan and renewed vision for the profession. Built on the foundation of a thriving profession where every RVT feels valued, impactful, and inspired, this year focused on strengthening our direction, deepening our impact, and ensuring the ABVTA is positioned to support RVTs now and into the future.
With the launch of our 2025 to 2028 Strategic Plan, we focused on listening to our members and aligning our work with their priorities. Through a comprehensive member engagement survey, we gained valuable insight into what RVTs need most and where the ABVTA can lead with purpose. That feedback confirmed the importance of our ongoing investments in professional development, communication, and member resources, while also reinforcing the call for stronger advocacy, expanded scope recognition, workforce sustainability, and fair wages.
As our association continues to grow, so too does our responsibility to ensure a strong foundation. Throughout 2025, we prioritized governance, collaboration, and partnership building, recognizing that meaningful progress requires both vision and structure. From advocacy and public education to leadership development and continuing education, this year reflected the collective effort of our Board, volunteers, staff, and members working together to advance the profession.
The ABVTA has evolved significantly in recent years, and that momentum continues. Together, we are building not only a stronger association, but a stronger profession, one where RVTs are empowered, respected, and supported in every stage of their careers. The future of veterinary technology in Alberta is bright, and we are proud to lead this work alongside our members.
