About the Board of Directors
The ABVTA Staff and Board of Directors value being approachable, open-minded, and welcoming to all members, and demonstrate integrity through honest, respectful, and ethical conduct toward animals and people. The ABVTA was founded to provide member services such as continuing education, public awareness, and the promotion of animal care and welfare. We are a non-profit, non-union, member-driven organization led by a Board of Directors focused on advancing veterinary technology as a profession to better support the veterinary industry. The ABVTA Board of Directors consists of a President, Past President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and three to six General Directors. Directors may serve up to three consecutive two-year terms, with the exception of the Vice President, who serves consecutively as Vice President, President, and Past President for a three-year term, in addition to any previously served time as a General Director. Additional Board roles include liaisons to standing committees and special project chairs. All Directors contribute to ongoing administration, policy development, member services, and the annual and long-term strategic planning of the ABVTA’s activities. |
