7/16/26 - The Alberta Veterinary Technologist Association (ABVTA), alongside six other provincial associations, is announcing the establishment of the Veterinary Technician/Technologist Association Council of Canada (VTACC). This new national collaboration brings provincial associations together to work toward a stronger future for the Veterinary Technologist profession.
Formally established in May 2026, VTACC brings together the executive leadership of the provincial VT associations representing British Columbia (BCVTA), Alberta (ABVTA), Saskatchewan (SAVT), Manitoba (MVTA), Ontario (OAVT), Quebec (ATSAQ), and Atlantic Canada (EVTA). Together, these associations represent more than 13,000 Veterinary Technologists and Technicians across Canada.
Through VTACC, the provincial associations will collaborate on national priorities that strengthen the profession while continuing to advocate for and support their members within their respective provinces.
As a partner in VTACC, ABVTA will contribute Alberta's perspective to national conversations and work alongside its provincial partners to help advance and strengthen the Veterinary Technologist profession across Canada.
