A Fine Focus Lab Refresher: Cytology Skills for Everyday Practice

Join us as we take a closer look at cytology with a focus on what really matters at the microscope.

This session covers practical techniques for sample preparation, evaluating slide quality, and accurately identifying microscopic features of common cytology samples. With an emphasis on recognizing quality samples and subtle cellular features, this session is designed to help you get more reliable information from your slides and feel more confident in what you’re seeing in practice.

This session is approved for 1 hour of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credit for RVTs by the ABVMA.

Speaker:

Brianne Bellwood, MSc, RVT, VTS (Clinical Pathology)

Brianne is a graduate of the Animal Health Technology program at Olds College (2002). She earned her Veterinary Technician Specialty (VTS) in Clinical Pathology in 2016 and currently serves as a board member with the Association of Veterinary Clinical Pathology Technicians (AVCPT). In 2021, she completed her master’s degree in Advanced Practice in Veterinary Nursing through the University of Glasgow.

Brianne is passionate about veterinary clinical pathology and values the opportunity to collaborate with RVTs and veterinary nurses across Canada and internationally.
