Ahead of the Curve: AI Literacy for Alberta's Veterinary Technologists - Presented in Partnership with Co-vet

Date: November 12, 2026
Time: 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM MT

Technology is evolving faster than most of us can keep up with, and veterinary technologists are on the front lines of that change.

The reality is simple, yet profound: the way RVTs practice today will look nothing like the way they practice tomorrow. As Artificial Intelligence reshapes veterinary medicine, the goal isn't just learning new software. It's learning to leverage AI appropriately so technologists can deliver the best patient care and support their teams more effectively.

In this webinar, we will explore:

  • What is happening with AI right now? A look at how technology is actively changing clinical workflows for Alberta's veterinary technologists.
  • Empowering the Future: How veterinary teams must rethink how they build critical thinkers who can evaluate and leverage AI in clinical settings, rather than blindly rely on it.
  • Actionable Steps for Today: What practice owners, RVTs, and clinical teams can, and must, do today to prepare for the workflows of tomorrow.

Alana Pay, RVT

Alana graduated from Olds College in 2016 as an RVT and immersed herself in the evolving world of emergency veterinary medicine, with a special interest in exotic animal husbandry and education. Over more than 15 years, her veterinary career has spanned mixed animal practice, emergency medicine, and teletriage, alongside an accredited zookeeping internship in Nebraska, animal care roles with the Calgary Zoo, and research work at the University of Alberta. Today, Alana is an Account Executive with CoVet, supporting veterinary teams across North America. Outside of work, she enjoys her personal zoo of reptiles and cats, along with a wide range of outdoor pursuits.
