ABVTA Wet Lab, Session 1 - Practical Blocks for General Practice

Date: May 23, 2026
Time: 8:45 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. MST

Step into a hands-on learning experience and build confidence practicing local block techniques commonly used in general practice.

This cadaver lab, focusing on companion animals, is designed to build practical skills and confidence, with:

  • Dental blocks
  • Interdigital blocks
  • Epidurals
  • Femoral blocks
  • Incisional blocks
  • Intra-testicular blocks.

Registrants should arrive and be ready 15 minutes prior to the session start. 

This session is approved for 3 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credit for RVTs by the ABVMA.

Registration is open to RVTs only.

Members:  $65.00

This Wet Lab is hosted in partnership with UCVM.

Speaker:

Alayne Madill, RVT, VTS (Anesthesia & Analgesia)

Graduating from Olds College AHT program and being a board-certified Veterinary Technician Specialist by the Academy of Veterinary Technician in Anesthesia & Analgesia for 15 years, Alayne brings over 25 years of clinical experience in Veterinary Medicine. Practicing primarily in busy emergency and specialty practice throughout her career, Alayne has spent considerable time training veterinarians, RVTs and support staff. Alayne currently is self-employed offering her anesthesia specialty services to practices looking for staff training and individual patient anesthesia case management. Alayne enjoys a busy home life with her family and competing with her purebred dogs.
