Nominate a Colleague for an ABVTA Award.

Alberta Veterinary Technologist Association (ABVTA) Awards are presented annually at the Member Recognition Banquet in conjunction with the ABVMA Leadership Weekend in February.

Call for nominations will be distributed in July of every year.
Deadline for receipt of nominations will be 90 days after the distribution date.
Nominations are not normally carried over to subsequent years, however, the Board of Directors may ask to set specific nominations aside to be reconsidered the following year with consent of the nominator.

The ABVTA Board of Directors will attempt to give these awards every year. The Association will make every effort to seek a candidate for the awards each year.

Notification of award recipients will be made with an invitation to attend the ABVMA February Leadership Banquet for presentation.

Conditions for all awards (unless otherwise indicated)
 ABVTA Board of Directors to make selection of all award winners
 The nominee must be an ABVTA member in good standing unless otherwise specified
 The submission must outline the nominee’s qualifications/contributions in support of the award
 Nomination must be submitted by an ABVTA or ABVMA member

2017 ABVTA Appreciation Award
This award is presented to a member of the AAAHT who has demonstrated outstanding service to the association. Service may be over the past year, or over several years. This award is meant to recognize contributions to the association.

Criteria:
 Recipient has served on an ABVTA committee, in an affiliated position, or on the Board of Directors for a minimum of two years.
 Promotes and contributes to the AHT profession through conduct at work or in public situations.
 Promotes and enhances the image of the ABVTA.
 Has made significant contributions to the ABVTA through projects and activities while volunteering as a board member, affiliated position or committee member.

 

2017 ABVTA Meritorious Service Award
This award is presented to a member of the ABVTA or the ABVMA who has demonstrated outstanding service to the AAAHT. More than one recipient annually may be approved by the current ABVTA Board of Directors.

Criteria:
 Actively promotes the role of RVTs in veterinary industry to the public and/or veterinary industry.
 Displays excellence in all aspects of her/his field.
 Conducts herself/himself in a professional manner.
 Displays dedication to the humane treatment of animals.
 Has contributed through an ABVTA committee, board of director or volunteer activity of the ABVTA.

 

*New* 2017 Lucille Landals Emerging Leader Award
The Lucille Landals Emerging Leader Award is named after Lucille Landals, a lifelong member of the Alberta Veterinary Technologist Association and distinguishable leader in the advancement of Veterinary Technologists in Alberta.
This award is presented to a new member of the ABVTA who makes outstanding contributions to the Association and our professional veterinary community.

Criteria:
 Recipient support the AAAHTs mission by contributing to the social, cultural and economic wellbeing of the veterinary community
 Recipient demonstrates sustained leadership and initiative
 Recipient must be within their first 5 years of membership with the ABVTA
